Unlock Technologies Closes $433.1M Home Equity Securitization Deal
Unlock Technologies and D2 Asset Management completed a $433.1 million home equity agreement securitization, marking the firm's second such deal of 2026.
Unlock Technologies, a Tempe, Arizona-based financial technology company specializing in home equity agreements, has closed a $433.1 million securitization transaction in partnership with D2 Asset Management, the companies announced. The deal marks the firm's ninth such transaction overall and its second completed in 2026.
The closing drew repeat participation from institutional investors, a signal of continued appetite in the structured finance market for home equity agreement-backed securities. Home equity agreements differ from traditional home equity loans or lines of credit in that they allow homeowners to access equity without taking on additional debt, exchanging a share of future home value appreciation for an upfront cash payment.

Unlock's ability to return to the securitization market multiple times — and to attract recurring institutional demand — reflects broader momentum in the alternative home equity space as rising interest rates in recent years pushed some homeowners away from conventional cash-out refinancing options. The transaction reinforces the firm's position as a leading issuer of HEA-backed securities among fintech lenders.
D2 Asset Management's role in the deal underscores the growing ecosystem of asset managers focused on structuring and distributing emerging asset classes tied to residential real estate. The $433.1 million figure places this transaction among the larger HEA securitizations completed in the sector to date.
