Sovereign Wealth Fund Body Plans $5T U.S. Investment Summit
The SWFI will host its inaugural I20 Summit in Miami alongside the G20 in December 2026, targeting $5 trillion in U.S. capital deployment.
The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute announced plans for the first-ever I20 Summit, a five-day gathering scheduled for December 11–15, 2026, in Miami, Florida. The event is designed to run concurrently with the G20 Leaders Summit at Trump National Doral, positioning it as a parallel forum for the world's largest state-controlled and institutional investors.
Organizers say the summit will bring together sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and institutional investors representing all G20 nations as well as allied countries. The stated ambition is to facilitate $5 trillion in capital deployment into the United States, underscoring the scale of foreign institutional interest in U.S. markets and infrastructure.

The timing and location of the I20 Summit appear deliberately chosen to leverage proximity to heads-of-state diplomacy, giving investment officials a dedicated venue to coordinate large-scale cross-border capital strategies while world leaders convene nearby. The dual-track format reflects a growing trend of financial forums shadowing major intergovernmental summits.
If realized, the $5 trillion target would represent one of the most ambitious coordinated investment initiatives ever announced by a nongovernmental body, touching sectors that could include infrastructure, technology, real estate, and private equity across the United States. The SWFI has not yet detailed how deployment would be tracked or verified across participating institutions.
