Aditya Birla Sun Life Launches Two Retail Funds from GIFT City
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has set up an IFSC subsidiary in Gujarat to offer two new retail funds of funds to investors.
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd. has established a wholly owned subsidiary, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC International (IFSC) Limited, at the International Financial Services Centre in Gujarat's GIFT City, the Indian asset manager announced in October 2026. The move positions the firm to expand its reach into international capital markets through India's premier offshore financial hub.
Through the new subsidiary, the company is introducing two retail funds of funds, products that pool investor capital into other investment funds rather than directly into securities. The GIFT City IFSC has emerged as a key platform for Indian financial institutions seeking to attract global investors and offer cross-border investment products under a regulatory framework distinct from mainland India.

The launch reflects a broader trend among Indian asset managers seeking to capitalize on GIFT City's growing infrastructure and favorable regulatory environment. The IFSC has been designed to serve as a gateway for foreign investment into India and for Indian capital to access global markets, with tax and regulatory incentives intended to rival offshore financial centers.
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC is among India's largest asset management companies, and the international subsidiary marks a strategic step toward diversifying its product base beyond domestic mutual funds. Retail investors gaining access to funds of funds through a regulated IFSC entity could benefit from broader global diversification.
