US Economy Grew at 3.4% Rate in Third Quarter 2026
US GDP accelerated sharply in Q3 2026, driven by investment, consumer, and government spending, the BEA said.
The United States economy expanded at an annualized rate of 3.4 percent in the third quarter of 2026, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported, a marked acceleration from the 2.2 percent growth recorded in the prior quarter.

Offsetting those gains partially were headwinds from the external sector. The 3.4 percent reading represents an advance estimate, meaning it will be subject to two subsequent revisions as more complete source data become available. Analysts and policymakers typically treat the advance figure as an early but closely watched signal of economic momentum.
